Our youngest loved the contrasting colors when she was a baby; we had to keep her from bending the pages as she tried to swat it with excitement. Toddlers enjoy the surprise each turn of the page brings. Now, with a preschooler and a kindergartener, they enjoy the delight of knowing what animal is to come and more precisely, identifying which part of the animal they see when it is "near." Highly recommended! The front and back cover even show an animal near and far. So clever!A very intriguing, puzzling, quirky book. The book zooms in and then out of objects, allowing for lots of possibilities for questioning. Bold illustrations and thoughtful examples make this a nice book to introduce size and curiosity for little ones.
