This is a fun but challenging book. It's got hundreds of different puzzles put together from the best code breakers and was more challenging than I expected. The challenges range from relatively easy to very difficult. Even the easy challenges require thought, sometimes pen and paper and general knowledge.I had this over Christmas and managed to get everyone involved helping me out. You'll require general knowledge for some of the questions (movie titles, songs, authors, etc) and how to spot patterns. Luckily it comes with a very helpful appendix on what types of patterns to look for, useful material to refer to (i.e. periodic table) hints and the answers when you give up.Easily the most challenging puzzle book I've seen and would be a great gift or book for the holidays.
