The Book of Jack provides an inside look at bullying and feels like it could be an "autobiographical fiction" - fiction only in reference to the mystical nature of certain events in the story that would be highly unlikely to occur in real life. I was captivated by the transformation of the main character bully by a series of events that progressed in such a curious way that I had trouble putting the book down. I couldn't wait to see what would unfold next and how the bully and the bullied would be affected. The author is also the illustrator and brings life to the characters and events in the story. I think the book is a very creative means of realistically portraying both the bully and his victims. The surprise ending will make the book a memorable one.
