Barnes & Noble’s Best Books of 2018Thrillist’s Best Comics & Graphic Novels of 2018Paste Magazine’s 25 Best Comic Books of 2018Book Riot’s Best Comics of 2018Powell’s Best Science-Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and Graphic Novels of 2018At long last, it's finally time for the second hardcover collection of SAGA, the New York Times bestselling series praised by everyone from Alan Moore to Lin-Manuel Miranda! Created by the multiple Eisner Award-winning team of artist FIONA STAPLES (Mystery Society, North 40, Archie Comics) and writer BRIAN K. VAUGHAN (THE PRIVATE EYE, PAPER GIRLS, WE STAND ON GUARD), SAGA BOOK TWO continues the action-packed education of Hazel, a child born to star-crossed parents from opposite sides of a never-ending galactic war. Collecting 18 issues of the smash-hit comic, this massive edition features a striking original cover from Fiona Staples, as well as a brand-new gallery of exclusive, never-before-seen SAGA artwork from legendary creators including CLIFF CHIANG, PIA GUERRA, FAITH ERIN HICKS, KARL KERSCHL, JASON LATOUR, SEAN GORDON MURPHY, STEVE SKROCE, and MORE!Deluxe Hardcover format - 7.25"" x 10.875Collects SAGA #19-36
Saga Volume 2 (Hardcover) continues the momentum of Volume 1 and takes just as many twists and turns as you'd expect! If you loved Volume 1 then do not hesitate to get this excellent collected edition!Story: I love where Vaughan is taking the story and every issue carries weight, you never feel like any panel is wasted. As always Staples' art is divine and helps to shape the story as much as Vaughan's writing. I'm looking forward to Volume 3 and I hope the story continues to carry as much depth and momentum as it did in this volume. The quality of the HC is equal to the quality of Volume 1, that is to say - excellent! The pages are nice and the art is vivid. Image knows exactly how to make a wonderful quality HC.I preferred the "behind the scenes" bonus features at the end of Volume 1 over Volume 2s extra art. It'd be nice to get more of that in future HCs and less additional art.Overall, it's a must buy! Saga is the greatest comic I've read in forever!
