This baby book is BEAUTIFUL. It is really the perfect balance of cute illustrations (which are SO vintage and adorable), cute quotes about babies and growing up, blank spaces to write things, and spaces for photos.ILLUSTRATIONSTotally vintage and so cute. There are lots of animals, fairies, babies, storks, children, bunnies, etc...it's like an old vintage children's book. There are LOTS of illustrations of babies, some clothed and some not (very vintage), but always tasteful.QUOTESI LOVE the quotes they included. There are just enough to give the book lots of charm and character, but not so many that it makes it kitschy or anything. They are really nice quotations, mostly from children's books. A few examples:"If you become a bird and fly away from me," said his mother, "I will be a tree that you come home to." - The Runaway Bunny, Margaret Wise Brown"A person's a person, no matter how small." - Dr. Seuss"This little piggy went to market..." etc."The five little puppies dug a hole under the fence...and went for a walk in the wide, wide world." - The Poky Little Puppyand many more.SPACE TO WRITEThere is a TON of space to write, with great prompts and questions to get you writing. For someone who really wants to keep a nice record/journal of their child's early years, this is an excellent starting point. Includes space for so much information, including family history, the pregnancy, thoughts of the parents, info about the family, baby's home, baby's birth day, the world baby was born into, baby's firsts, cute sayings, friends, teeth, birthday celebrations, bathtime, favorite things to eat, etc. etc. etc. A good mix of one-line answer spaces and paragraphs.SPACE FOR PHOTOSThere is a LOT of space for photos, which I really love because I take so many pictures of my children (I just counted, there are over 70 spots for photos - and I love how each includes the dimensions of the "frame" so it makes it super easy to get the correct size printed). Photo spaces are a mix of rectangles, squares and circles.Overall, this is a beautiful, timeless baby book that will be loved and cherished by your child. It is very gender-neutral. I LOVE it and highly recommend it.
