In lieu of open-the-flaps, there are puzzle pieces to remove and "reveal" the image behind.However, the pieces are hard to remove and the pieces themselves have sharp cardboard edges.I was afraid that if not properly removed, the pieces would also tear the immediate surrounding area of the piece. Secondly, it can pose a cutting danger to toddler fingers' sensitive skin.Finally, the illustrations of the subject are of a mish-mash style. Not contemporary enough, not clean and modern, and actually look messy.
