I have always been a big fan of Frida Kahlo so of course when I started postcrossing, I was really happy that there were Kahlo postcards for purchase. I was pleased to see that aside from images of her artwork, there were also photographs of Frida herself. My complaint, though, is the fact that these are of such flimsy stock. There are perforated edges for removal, but because of the thinness of the cards, exercise caution or you will rip right through it, ruining the postcard. For me, this is a BIG deal because I'm sending mail to places overseas - how disappointing for someone to receive what would otherwise be an amazing replication of Frida's art or Frida herself were it not for the damage done to the weak card stock, being bent and warped until it would appear to be random trash mail. Other than that, I think these are lovely as far as image is concerned. If you're just a collector of postcard books, of Frida in general, or wanted to simply use these for home decor framing projects, then absolutely a sound purchase. For actual mailing, maybe keep it to your town or neighboring states. And even then, I think that'd be pushing it.Good selection, but not exactly what I wanted, but made for a nice giftIt is a beautiful book of postcards. Frida Kahlo is an amazing painter and to have these images is very special for me and the people I send them to! ???It is great for the price. I wish it had less of the photographs and more of the art but overall it makes a good gift. The postcards could also be a tad thicker but they work great as 'thank you' notes.I love all the cards! I will no doubt frame some of them. Thanks.Cute cards, used to decorate a small area. This book includes 22 beautiful postcards, a little larger than 4" x 6". The paper is not very thick.Picture side: It includes 5 photographs, portraits and other paintings. Some of the photos are in B&W but most of them in color. All the postcards have a white borders, in some of them a little thick as needed to show the whole painting, but it frames them real nice. This is the real value of this postcard book, since the paintings are really nice, and well printed.Writing side: too glossy / satined, the ink smears.Book binding: This is the real problem with this book. The cards have a perforated edge, and you need to pull them to separate them, but it's very difficult to do so without tearing them. So, this book is not very useful.Weak card stock doesnt bother me. Glossy address side and clear printing resolutionA beautiful little book of nicely printed collection of a great collection of Frida's lovely images. BUT, absolutely useless as postcards as they are too lightweight and you would have to either tear or cut them out to use them as such. (No perforations or anything similar.) And as a book, though the images are a great collection and well printed, the pages are so stiff that it's quite difficult to open the book properly to look at them. I don't really understand why the makers didn't go properly in one direction or the other. The hybrid is frustrating and I with a bit of regret I returned it. Maybe I'm just too squeamish and should have bravely pulled the book apart to get at the 'postcards', but even then (as someone has said previously) they would need to be posted in envelopes, so the little line that separates your message from the address would be redundant and annoying.Flimsy, nasty shiny postcards. No wonder that you can’t view the postcards, the ones that are actually Kahlo’s paintings are hardly her most recognised works. Not worth the money.I really like this collection. The postcards are a bit flimsy, but the reproductions are beautiful. The choices are not all her most famous works, in fact some of the most well known are not present, instead there are lesser known portraits, showing other sides of Frida.wonderful, hard to give awayThey are very beautiful indeed, but perhaps for some people (especially postcrossers) it would be useful to know that they are way too thin to be sent by post without envelopes.
