I have an 11th grader. She and I had been researching ways for her to avail of scholarships and financial aid. The Free College Resource Book has made it easier for us to get the information that we need and not get lost through the process. The book addresses the student, not just the parents. It helps the student go through the process without too much maneuvering of the parents. Busy parents will find this very helpful. Another thing I like about the book is that it is not too big or bulky. My daughter could fit it easily in her purse. Other books we bought were just too bulky, but lacking in information. This petite book is packed with a lot of helpful tips and information, which are laid out in an organized manner. The books give a realistic approach to college admission. What tests to take, how to prepare for the tests, what types of student loans and grants are available, how to write a winning essay, what to expect during the interview, how to apply for scholarships and so much more. My daughter has already visited some of the links provided in the book under the College Planning Resources. The book also talks about the GRAND SLAM method to help win scholarship funding. Reading through the instructions represented by each letter helps in remembering the tips and techniques that will work for my daughter's particular situation. Overall, my daughter and I give this book an A+++ rating of 5/5. We highly recommend it for students and parents alike!
