My son (currently 20mo) has had us check this book out from the library four times for the full length of time (renewed twice, for a total of nine weeks check out each time). Since he loves it so much, we bought him his own copy and returned the other.The hippo images are simple and charming. They offer a great variety of perspectives in front of/behind, thick/thin, dotted/striped, and so on. My son's favorite pages are the full/empty and soft/rough pages, which offer both textures and visuals.Have a young toddler? They're sure to read this one again and again.
