Learning the alphabet is as easy as A, B, C in Alphablock, a fun addition to the Abrams Block Book series! Young readers will explore letters in an exciting and unique way, from A to Z. Parents 10 Best Children’s Books of 2013Notable Children’s Books from ALSC 2014 “All the parts together make an appealing and fun way for youngsters to interact with the alphabet, and for slightly older children to enjoy the clever artwork.” —School Library Journal (Starred Review) “Lively and tactile.” —Wall Street Journal With thick pages cut into the shape of each letter, children and parents will enjoy this peek-through guessing game around the letterform itself. Sprinkles, hot fudge, and cherries hint at I’s ice cream sundae, while aquarium accessories hint at F’s fish. As readers interact with the pages, they will familiarize themselves not only with the 26 letters and associated words, but also with each letter’s physicality—angles, holes, and curves, both front and back. Like other books in the Block Book series, such as Countablock, Dinoblock, Cityblock, and Farmblock, Alphablock features die-cut shapes throughout and sturdy pages with rounded corners, perfect for little hands. With bright, animated, retro-inspired artwork by Peski Studio, Alphablock encourages the smallest readers to manipulate the alphabet in a whole new way and is a must-have ABC book. Your child will have so much fun reading this book, they won’t realize learning the alphabet is part of their education! This is the favorite book of my 5 and 3 year old girls. We have a lot of alphabet books (more than 15) and this is the one that keeps their attention and has helped thin identify and correlate the alphabet sounds to words the best. We read it every night. They love the colors and shape of each page. They especially love turning the pages likely because it is cut to the shape of the letter. I started reading this to my oldest at age 2 and by age 3 she knew all her letters, sounds and could read simple words. My husband and I attribute it to reading this book every night. It also makes a great gift. We now own all the block books and kids just love them
